Sweaty Betty is one of the most-loved UK activewear brands — but sizing questions come up constantly. Does it run small? Which range is most consistent? What about the bras?
Here's what the Forre community found.
Does Sweaty Betty run small?
Generally: true to size, but not always. Sweaty Betty is more consistent than Gymshark, but specific ranges have quirks. Here's the breakdown by product line.
Power Leggings
True to size for most body types. The Power Leggings are Sweaty Betty's flagship — and the most reviewed item in our community. Women in UK 8–18 generally find them accurate to their usual size.
The exception: women with a waist-to-hip ratio above 0.8 (i.e., significant difference between waist and hips) often find the waistband loose when the hips fit well. The waistband has minimal elastic stretch — it's designed for a straighter hip profile.
Tip: if you're a pear shape with a UK 12 waist and UK 14 hips, size to your hips (UK 14) and use the drawstring to adjust the waist.
Zero Gravity Leggings
Runs slightly small. The Zero Gravity is a compression legging with a slicker finish. Most reviewers recommend sizing up one — particularly through the thigh and calf. If you're between sizes, go up.
Gary 7/8 Leggings
True to size, very forgiving. The Gary is Sweaty Betty's softest legging — a higher-waisted, relaxed fit. Most body types find it comfortable at their usual size. It's also their most size-inclusive range.
Stamina Sports Bra
Runs small in the cup. This is the most common complaint. If you're a full B cup or above, size up the band (e.g. go from a medium to a large) to get adequate cup coverage. Support is good once sized correctly.
Zip It Hoodie and outerwear
True to size. Outerwear is consistent. Follow the size chart.

Sweaty Betty and curvier body types
Sweaty Betty has improved size inclusivity — they now go to a 2XL (UK 18) on most ranges. But the cuts are still designed for a relatively straight hip-to-waist profile.
Pear shapes: Power Leggings are good; Zero Gravity is tighter through the thighs. Size up for Zero Gravity.
Hourglass shapes: The Power Leggings waistband can feel slightly loose at the back — the wide waistband helps but it's not as fitted as Lululemon's.
Plus sizes (UK 16+): The Gary leggings are the most comfortable option. Power Leggings work but the compression is more intense at larger sizes.
Quality and longevity
This comes up a lot in Forre reviews: Sweaty Betty holds up very well to washing. Multiple reviewers note minimal pilling or shape loss after 6–12 months of regular use with cold washing.
The Zero Gravity has the shortest lifespan in terms of compression — several reviewers note it relaxes after 6 months of weekly use.
Is Sweaty Betty worth the price?
UK prices run £70–£110 for leggings. Community verdict: yes, for the Power Leggings specifically — they last and the quality is noticeable. The Zero Gravity is harder to justify given how quickly compression fades.
