Pilates Starter Kit

Pilates is precision movement β€” your clothes need to be body-skimming so the instructor can see your alignment, and soft enough not to distract you.

Why these items?

Reformer and mat pilates both involve controlled, precise movements. Tight-fitting but comfortable leggings let your instructor (and you) see your body position. Grip socks are essential for reformer β€” they keep your feet in place. A light-support bra is fine as pilates is low impact.

Beginner Tips

Mat pilates is a great starting point before moving to reformer. Studios often offer intro reformer courses. Tell your instructor about any back, hip, or knee issues β€” pilates is often used in physio and the instructor will modify for you.
