Cycling Starter Kit
Whether you're hitting a spin class or outdoor cycling, the right kit makes all the difference between loving it and dreading the saddle.
The thinking
Why these items
Padded cycling shorts or leggings are a game-changer for saddle comfort — even on a spin bike. A supportive sports bra prevents bounce on climbs. A fitted top avoids excess fabric catching the wind or getting caught in equipment.

Before you start
Beginner Tips
For spin: arrive early and ask the instructor to set up your bike. Seat height and handlebar position make a significant difference to comfort and injury prevention.
Bring a full water bottle and a towel — spin classes are intense and you will sweat more than expected.
For outdoor cycling: start on flat, well-lit routes. Always wear a helmet. Use cycle paths where available.
Padded shorts or leggings transform saddle comfort. If the saddle is painful after 15 minutes, your seat height or position needs adjusting — not your pain tolerance.
