Cycling Starter Kit

Whether you're hitting a spin class or outdoor cycling, the right kit makes all the difference between loving it and dreading the saddle.

Why these items?

Padded cycling shorts or leggings are a game-changer for saddle comfort — even on a spin bike. A supportive sports bra prevents bounce on climbs. A fitted top avoids excess fabric catching the wind or getting caught in equipment.

Beginner Tips

For spin classes: arrive early, ask the instructor to help set up your bike (seat height and handlebar position matter a lot). Bring a towel and a full water bottle — you will sweat. For outdoor cycling: start on flat routes, always wear a helmet, and use cycle paths where possible.

Where to Find Classes

Most gyms include spin classes in membership. Dedicated spin studios: SoulCycle, Psycle, 1Rebel (UK). For outdoor cycling, search for local cycling clubs — most have beginner rides on weekends.
